I really like the contrast between the dark color of the sheath and the lighter color of the handle strap. Nice job! -

I have a woodshop, but also do a lot of work outside of the shop. It’s definitely hard to keep tools nice when you don’t have much control of the surroundings and the people in it. -

Lol, yes I know exactly what you mean bikermutt07, I just received my delve squares as well and haven’t taken them out for the same reason. My wife asked me the other day, what’s the point of buying the woodpecker tools if I am too afraid to use them, ha. -

Thanks guys! Yes it is hand sewn. I am trying to save up for a machine, but it looks like it will be some time before I get one. If you happen to know Woodpecker, then you know how crazy expensive they are. I want to protect my baby, lol. -
I made a case for my reference angle guide tool. The tool did not come with a case (which is crazy because of the cost of them), so I decided to make one. By the way, I am not by any means promoting or endorsing the company that makes the tool, I just didn’t know how to blurr out the name.

I guess I cannot get all the photos on one page, sorry. I also made a holster, but I am going to make another as I was not very happy with the results.

I finally wanted to officially say "hello" to everyone on leatherworker. I joined a few years ago, but due to several surgeries, I was unable to continue working with leather until just recently. I got into leather when I was working for the fire department. We carry a large amount of elevator keys on our apparatus and they were scattered all over the glovebox, which made them difficult to find at times. I wanted to try and find a remedy to our elevator keys situation and that is when I thought of leather, I have been hooked ever since. I continued to make other items for the department as well, chainsaw sheath, chainsaw tool pouch, and concrete saw blade holder. I have attached (I hope) a picture of aforementioned items. One other thing that I wanted to say is "WOW", just wow. I am in awe of the wonderful work that so many of you have graciously posted for newbies like me to drool over. My hope is to one day come close to the craftsmanship that so many have exhibited here. Okay, I guess I won't be posting a pictures at this time, as I they are too large in size. I will post the pictures as soon as I get them reduced in size, as I know that you are all so excited to see them, jk.

Cowboy Holster Tutorial
arrudad replied to Jim's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
SLP, sorry for the very delayed response to your post. I appreciate the link that you posted concerning my question. I ended up using a Q-tip, of all things, to color in my tooling. I just loaded up the Q-tip and placed it at the edge of the tooling and the dye just wicked down into the areas that I needed dyed, crazy. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question; additionally, please accept my apologies for the delayed response. -
Cowboy Holster Tutorial
arrudad replied to Jim's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I am still very new to leather work, especially when it comes to using dye and tooling. I have a question on Jim's use of dye around the edges. Does anyone know how he is able to get the dark color to extend to the tooling and then it seems to fade out. Is the fading due to the natural coloration you get from using the camouflage tool and then he maybe colors the part next to the edge using a brush? Thanks for any help and I apologize if this question should have been asked elsewhere. And thank you Jim for the tutorial! I am making my first holster as I type. SLP... Nice job on your holster! I guess I could ask you the same question as your holster looks very similar to Jim's.
