  1. I had a picture that someone took. They saw him at a store and sent me the picture. So he’s wearing it. Its one of the top 10 largest agencies in Mississippi, so it’s pretty cool, to me, that he wears it daily. Thank you, both.
  2. I work out of my garage. The whole space, minus 4 shelves in the storage room and a freezer, has been turned into a workshop. People always call and want to come by, and I have to set appointments. I’ve thought about setting up a shop, with a register and some stock items to display and sell; BUT, I don’t feel like I’d make it big. A lot of the time I get the “I can get this/that on Amazon for $10, why would I give you $30?” Most people want it now. So even if I didn’t have orders backed up 2-3 weeks, I still feel like the price for quality would shun most people in my area away. I do enough business where if someone says something costs too much or takes too long, it doesn’t hurt my feelings. What I HAVE thought about, also, is selling my wares, and then selling kits and leather bundles. The closest Tandy is almost 3 hours away. I do make a pretty good bit on scraps and useless (to me) leather. Lotta folk wanna buy leather that’s sub-par (to me) to try their hand at leather crafting. interesting topic.
  3. Thank you! I don’t get many requests for Fully tooled work, so I was glad to do this He drew inspiration from the Texas Rangers. I’ll be interested to see if he wears it on a regular basis. Thank you very much!
  4. Thanks fellas. It was nice to not work on a piece of plastic. Been a while. Between antique and finishes, it took on some darkening. I can’t complain too much, but if I want to go lighter on a project like this, 60/40 thinner to dye might be better. Or more.
  5. A local police chief wanted a nice western rig to go with his 1911 for daily wear. Dress belt and duty rig. The belt is the Springfield craftaid. Holster, mag pouch, and handcuff case were created by my wife. Dress belt is 6/7 oz skirting with 3/4oz lining. Rig is two layers of 7/8oz skirting. Everything else is 7/8oz and 8/9oz for the holster. Everything was airbrushed with thinned walnut pro dye. This was a fun project that got delayed after I ruptured my bicep and had a fun little surgery. The chief had these buckles made, and I think they look great
  6. You can literally spend an hour and a half trying to perfect curves stitch lines. I tried the scan method, but it was too shadowy to get an accurate scan

I see you got it done
  8. Thank you. That walnut is one of the best brown colors
  9. I think it’s just the way that it looks. The handle kind of curved it up some. Cobra 4 stitched
  10. I don’t get many calls for knife sheaths. But I liked this one. It’s for a custom made knife that a guy wanted for his father-in-law. 7/8oz Wickett & Craig skirting, airbrushed and oiled walnut pro oil dye and the red lettering outlines are Angelus acrylic paint, to match the lines in the handle. Finished gently with 50/50 resolene airbrushed on.
  11. Maaaaan, if they want that sale, they can talk for a little bit. Most of them warm up to you after about 5 minutes when they realize you’re actually considering making the investment. Cowboy Bob was excellent to talk to and Cobra Steve is one of my favorite people to harass. Also, there’s a machine company in Tennessee that is slipping my mind right now, but the guy that helped me there is top notch as well. Don’t be afraid to tell them what you know, or what you think you know, because they can set you straight if you’re wrong or have preconceived notions. Also, that wizcrafts feller above me up there is a great resource.
  12. I called several dealers and asked them the same questions. Types of materials, how would it handle this or that, and just wrote their answers down. It took me about 4 months to buy the last machine I got. Reverse and replacement parts were my #1.
  13. I think Springfield Leather carries it.
  14. I came in on that stitch line a tiny amount and it should work for 7/8oz leather.
  15. That beats the rubbermaid bin I drop them in. I need to do that. I’m tired of bending over digging for this or that
  16. I’ve never even considered holding it in my weak hand. Now I want to try it
  17. Strong disclaimer: I haven’t had a chance to form this up, so I don’t know if the stitch lines are 100% correct. I scratched this up this morning to test this evening. I also hope I’m uploading this correctly. It should be a good start, and I hope it helps. filename-1.pdf
  18. I will in a couple of days. I’ll get back with y’all.
  19. I went to talk to a guy that’s runs a pawn shop because I knew he’d gotten some leather equipment in a long while back, but he didn’t know what he wanted to sell and what he wanted to keep. But now he wants to offload whatever he can. I jumped on the chandler walking foot for $500, and we’ve settled on $500 for this machine, but I don’t know anything about it. I don’t have a problem walking away from it, but if it works and cuts leather strips, I’m down like 4 flat tires. Any info would be greatly appreciated, especially replacement parts and maybe even how to use it.
  20. I see what you mean. No, it’s where the dye changed the color and made it blend in. I’ve never had that happen before until this run with saddle tan, but it’s done it on 3 projects. Thank you! Thank you very much. The customer was specific about what he wanted. Thank you very much!
  21. Flap holster for a Browning Hi-Power. There are 4 Chicago screws on the back to attach it to the pancake. The pancake portion is 7/8 oz and the backing is 3/4 oz. The main holster is 6/7 oz and lined with 4/5 oz. 7/8 oz welt
