  8. i sold my business to 'pink chaps ' several years ago.i dont have any bad feelings toward this person, other than they show up on my profile page at least every 5 mths or more.that would be ok too' if' they would say hi but they dont i therefore assume that their digging into my profile to see if they can catch me,wheeling n dealing in forbidden areas i kinda feel violated much as some pretty maiden. can you block people from visiting my profile site if so please block 'pink chaps' for me thanks pete Name: any moderator UserName: Hennessy IP Address: 4.227.117.136 Email Address: petehennessy@earthlink.net
  9. for wot its worth! i had a boot n shoe repair business for 5 years back in early 80'z kinda helped me along untill my rodeo gear got goin.one neat trick out of th trade is how to unstick barge and masters or any rubber cement.,i've used it hundreds of times i'm sure, you must use rubber cement thinner nothing else in thinners, get a dauber or fake sheepskin wet it good with thinner i put it down on top side [backside if you can] skirting, whatever on old wool skirt liner start in a corner n lift enough to get a peel goin.give the thinner a few minutes to penetrate it'll surprise you on how easy it makes things go pete
  10. i'm sorry to say i tried to inject a little humour 'wrong'!glovey leather to me is thin leather of a consistancy that would make it condusive to making into a glove. soft flexible good appearence and quality thus a glovey piece of leather.

  14. that huge awl you speak of is probably a phillips screwdriver ground down, very common in production shops i'm sure it's been temper'd,i have one its thin a bit wide but sure is fun to sew with
  15. years ago i repaired an old saddle ,well made when i removed the old lineing one side had a flat seam across the middle of the skirt.this told me that one skirt was two pieced.a beautiful flat stitched seam not visible from hair side..i'm ashamed to say that over the years i've applied that trick on repair work and new saddles.it doesn't seem right but if done properly when glued down its impossible to observe.sometimes your short on a corner etc etc.if you join wool so the nap lays the same way using matching wool scrap 69 thread small needle ,it can be done.also i've seen saddles that walked blankets out,a friend 's saddle walked out sideways on close inspection the nap on one side went to the head the other went to the tail.i believe a saddle shouldn't walk forward when rode, therefore the nap should lay against forward movement.the butt to the front on both sides .sounds strange but i bet its old school! i got that years ago n ah'm old.
