Paul I cannot wait to get started, I cannot express how much this means to me. I have the utmost respect for you and your work, I only hope that someday I can meet you face to face. It would be a dream come true. Best personal regards, Bill Parrie

Hi Harbey Back when I was in the art gallery business, their was no discounting of art work. If an artist or an art agent caught you discounting art work, they would not sell to you again. People buy art as an investment and if a gallery discounts, it makes all of that artists work go down in value. Believe me other galleries watch what you do and will report you in a split second. If this is a reputable gallery, I don't see much chance for a discount. I was in the business for almost 40 years and have never given a discount on art work. Regards, Bill Parrie

I lived in Spain for quite a while and am very fimiliar with this type of leather work. You may want to google the spanish leather museum, it is located about an hour out of Barcelona. I think you will enjoy looking at this and may get some ideas. I would like to find some suppliers of leather craft items in Spain, so far no luck. Regards, Bill

I don't understand what you are trying to say with your logo. I think it should have something showing leather work or something. I don't think your logo will bring any business. Sorry Regards, Bill Parrie

Having spent most of my life in the art gallery and picturre framing business, I can tell you that a frame shop can cut these all day long and it only takes a minute. I still have several oval/circle cutters around and would be happy to cut as many as you want. Just pm me and let me know if I can help. Regards. Bill Parrie

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but you may want to check and see what is already on the markert. Similar type things like this have been on the market since the 1960's at least. I used to manufacture picture framing equipment and their was a company call Seal in Conn. that made something very much like this. They were used to trim graphics and such. The computer age has taken over mat cutting in frame shops and lots of large manual mat cutters are being sold and they can do the same thing. I think you should see what is already out on the market before you invest too much money in this project. If memory serves me right , Seal used to get something like $75.00 for their unit. Best of luck , Bill

I would really like to see what you did, but the pictures are so small, you cannot see any detail. Thanks Bill

When I had my art gallery, we used to sell a frame and mat that I designed. You want to take a picture of the baby every month (try and use the same setting each time) and have them made is about a 3 X 5 , then take a picture when the baby is 1 yr. old and have that made into a 5 X7. You will want to make a leather mat with 12 oval openings for the 3 X 5's and one oval opening for the 5 X 7. I forgot to mention that you want a picture from the hospital when the baby is born. Now design the mat with the larger picture in the center and the other 12 pictures all around it. It will amaze you how the baby changes from month to month. Each month you just keep adding the new picture and watch that beautiful baby grow. You will cherish this for the rest of your life. Regards, Bill Parrie

Yes it is the 3M 811 removable tape and it comes in a blue box. You can get it at any office supply store.

I have the Tandy embossing machine and use it all the time, it is great. The way I keep the letters straight, is I use 3M - 8ll tape and it does not leave a mark on the grain side of the leather. I just lay a strip of tape on the leather, then lay a ruler on the tape and draw a line with a ball point pin and use that as my guide, and it works everytime. Bill Parrie

I think that you did an outstanding job, I really like the colors. Only thing you will have a problem when you go to frame it. You made the edge to close to your carving and you will cover some parts of your carving. You have to always figure to leave room so that you donot cover anything with the frame or mats, you also want to leave a little extra room for the to have some space from the frame and that way it will not look croweded.

I have ordered from that same lady, several times and never did get the first order. I donot know what her problem is. I now go elsewhere when I need to order. Regards, Bill
