Thank you for the kind words @SUP . I may try a couple out of suede , maybe a different color for the liner than the top side .....good idea thank you.

More women's stuff . I tried this back in July and the test girl says that one is holding up quite well ( metal barrette and contact is still holding tight ) . I wasn't sure if the contact would hold under tension and compression but I am starting to think it might .Just another off the wall idea of mine

Looks good ! Be sure and post a pic when you get them done please .
I just can't help myself ............................................... glad neither ones first name was Green

Well it looks like I missed completely
Glad you got it taken apart and I would have to put new rawhide on the head while it's down .

I started with a $20,00 knife and after a year and a half thought I needed an up-grade ( about $70.00 knife ) . Only difference is the cradle free wheels a little better .........

And like I told Cattleman there's a cam on the welts that when done right, the knife goes in a little tight, then when it goes over that cam it's...snap, good and secure!
Thanks ! I was wondering if you had used 3 layers , the cam thing is a great idea . Again ..... NICE WORK !!

Take this with a pound of salt ......... but looking at patent #662,691 , I would think loosening the nut and placing a rod that just goes in the hole on the handle end and tapping that rod would start it apart . Again I do NOT KNOW , might need someone with a little machinist knowledge to look at the drawings .

If I had a clicker press , I think this might be one to get a die for . I would have never made a carpenter if it were not for Geometry class !!!!!!!!

They might at that . Might need leather already cut to speed it up just a little or at the very least patterns if you are talking about the guy doing the 4 hour classes .

@Wepster Thank you !
and I agree the taller one does look better . Go for it , the friction fit isn't that hard and if you do miss the block is a fine idea .
As for google not knowing about " ringing " I am not surprised LOL ! It's just something we have always done ( don't even know where I got it ) , it's just a deep depression right around the wick . On a flat top candle they seem to melt all across the top , the depression lets what melts stay more in the center which seems to make a little more flame . Here is a picture of what we do to new candles .

Thanks ! The base did not change , only change was in height .

Looks great !!! The dark bottom piece sets the coasters and wrap off , kind of reminds me of some buffalo hide . Well done!
