Thank you. I don't know why the picture messed up -
That seat is beautiful!

Tim, Those are really nice, and I really like the colors. Milli

What a great idea! I have a couple old leather jackets that have been hanging in the closet for years that don't fit anybody, but hate to just throw out. Now I just need to figure out what to turn them into.

I work with a girl that does this. She says it's her favorite game. She also goes to resturants and complains about everything so that they "comp" her meals. Then they give her gift certificates to come back again. She claims she hasn't paid for a meal in 3 years. I look at her as a thief, but to her it's a game. Milli

newbie question
Milli replied to dustin29's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
Dustin, I did that on this small notebook. I had painted the flowers white, then thought the white was too harsh. So I put some resist over them and then some antique. I like the way it came out. Milli -
My vacation ended, and I had to go back to work today, now that's a bad day. I spilled some black dye on the very light wood dining room table about a year ago. It sank in pretty good. Oh, and the table was my mother in laws! I have to remember to put a table cloth on it whenever she visits. Milli

That looks really nice. I'd like to make a briefcase, but I'm not that brave yet! Milli

Good customer service goes such a long way! -
You could say that they are "retro"

I really like it, and it's cool to learn a little piece of history. I can think of some things that a case like that could be used for now. Maybe for playing cards, or even to hold your bank cards and a little cash while traveling. Milli

Jana, I really like that case, it came out great. I have to ask, what is a wax tablet case??? Milli

A bus full of really ugly people goes off the road and crashes. Everybody on board dies. They are all standing in line at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter takes one look at them, and thinks, "these poor people, they have all had such a hard life being so ugly and all. I will grant them each one wish before letting them into Heaven." He goes to the first lady in line and asks what her wish is. She says "I want to be beautiful." Instantly she is beautiful. St. Peter goes to the next person, and he says "I want to be handsome." Instantly, he is handsom. And so it goes, everybody wants to be either beautiful or handsome. St. Peter is about halfway thru the line, when he notices the very last guy in the line, by far the ugliest of all, is starting to laugh. St. Peter thinks to himself that that guy just must be happy because he will no longer be so ugly. St. Peter continues down the line, everybody is still wishing to be either beautiful or handsome. By now the guy at the end of the line is rolling on the ground laughing. St. Peter finally gets to the last guy and asks him what his wish is. The guy has a hard time stopping laughing, but finally says: "I want all of them to be ugly again!"

Small cell phone case
Milli replied to Milli's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Thanks Madmax22, I think I like doing the oak leaves, and will try more. There's a couple areas on this pattern that got a "re-design". I've been looking at all the patterns I have, and have found serveral different kinds to try. Milli -
This is a small cell phone case from a kit a got from Hidecrafters a few years back. This is my first try at oak leaves. I tried "suntanning" for the first time on this project. I set it out back for about 4 hours. It was about 100 degrees out that day. I added a little highlighter, then just some clear shoe polish for a finish. I really like to color this created. How did I do? Thanks, Milli oops, the last picture didn't attach.

Harvey, That is such a good idea. It's one of those that seen so obvious, but you don't think about until somebody tells you. Milli

Have you thought about taking any business classes? If you want to try to make a go of it in leather, it wouldn't hurt to learn some of the business aspects of it. Or, some accounting classes. Milli
-
Tim, You can go to your local comunity college and take a test to determine what areas might be good for you. It will give you serveral ideas as to the direction to go. After you get the results, take your time and explore each option. You might be surprised what comes up, maybe things you never even considered before. Milli

That's really nice, and the edges look Great! -
Ya know, I forgot to say that I am going to try the edge "recipe". I haven't had a lot of luck with my edges so far. They are "all right", but not where I want them. I can't wait to have some time to get back to my leather room and work. (maybe if I got off the computer...but then, how would I learn!?) Thanks for all the help! Milli
