well, 498 rivets. It was a package of 500 and I used 2 testing. These are blind rivets, copper with a steel mandrel. It's grip length is for thicknesses between 0.188 inches to .25 inches (4.8mm to 6.35mm) I'd planned on just returning them, but they were a special order so I figured I'd offer them here first given they don't seem easily available. $30 + $6 for shipping via USPS flat rate envelope. This is what I paid, so I'm just looking to recoup the purchase price. If you're interested, let me know ASAP otherwise they're going back tomorrow.

My hands are getting tired setting 1/4" spot on my leather horse tack. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a supplier for a machine? (one with a hopper at the very least and a guide for setting them straight)? I just need to make sure whatever the one I buy can set them so they are touching. (the last machine I bought doesn't allow them to be set that close together and will not work with the thick leather I use) I have just outgrown my current ones and would like to buy the right one the first time. Thanks everyone for your help. smile emoticon Here is a picture of what I make for reference to what I need to achieve for edging my overlays.

Hello all, I am having issues setting brass rivets with my rivet setter (https://www.etsy.com/listing/118895691/stud-rivet-setter-tool-machine-hand). The posts always end up indenting the caps, even when I cut the post down. If I cut the posts any shorter than I do the caps come off without much effort. I don't think it is an issue with the rivet setter, it seems to function as it is intended. The die used on the machine is a 12mm double cap die. I am using 7mm and 9.2mm double cap rivets with differing post sizes for various leather thicknesses. My plan was to cut down any posts that were too long, but as I mentioned, the posts still indent the caps. Have any of you had similar issues? Thanks Zayne

Hello, I am making a few small cases that need to be riveted on the sides. The cases are pretty small so my rivet machine (the heritage foot press from Weaver) wont get into that small of a hole. It will work great for bigger bags - but these small things just wont fit. Anyone have a great tool idea or option for setting rivets inside small bags or pouches? I am using double capped rivets, but I guess it doesn't matter if the inside doesn't turn out pretty. Thanks!

I'll looking to buy some punches. What sizes should I buy for installing rivets, snaps and eyelets/grommets? I realize that there are different sizes of snaps (for example), but I figure that there has to be a standard for the common snaps. Also, do you have any advice on brand? How is Osborne? And since I have your attention, how is the Osborne skiver? https://www.osborneleathertools.com/product_details.php?pid=400

I have been searching the web looking for spots like these. I guess they're spots? Maybe they're rivets? Are they sold like this or are they purchased separately then put together? Any advise as to where I can buy them would be great! I've only found spots with a shiny border.

Looking for a hand press with rivet dies for 11mm double capped rivets or single cap with eyelet. Either or. Currently using the W-1 C.S. Osborn Hand Press but it does't have the die set for 11mm rivets. I am in need of a rivet that has a longer shank on it, thus the need for another press. Let me know if you have anything!

I am struggling with a task that is actually pretty simple: Rivetting two layers of 4-5oz leather with Double Cap Rivets like this: http://d31snyb1jsf9xb.cloudfront.net/services/image.aspx/media/images/product/1379-081-L.JPG-600x The Problem is that the male part is usually waaay too long and the result is that the two Caps arent in line. I tried to shorten the post, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Do you guys have a more reliable technique? Also, are there other rivets i could use? Sure, i could use copper rivets, but often times thats not an option for me for a number of reasons. Other alternatives? Thanks, Cheers

Hey everyone! Where do you buy your crystal rivets? I like to use 5 mm and 10 mm. I have found ok suppliers for 10 mm size, but I really have to hike up my cost and wholesale price buying 5 mm from Tandy Leather. Does Standard Rivet Company sell crystal rivets that small? Anywhere else? I am not having any luck searching the web! I know there has to be another option besides Tandy! Thanks!

Has anyone ever found or used a riveting plier instead of a drive rivet set? I am trying to rivet leather to hair barrette clips, and don't have a direct line of drive because of the shape of the clip. Are there pliers out there with narrow jaws that will set double cap or even splash rivets? Thank you.
