Craftool four piece set. It makes a nice barbed wire border, with two types of barbs. Without the barbs, I have used it as a rope border for Western or nautical themes. Offering the set for $20 plus $5 shipping. Thanks! Steve

Looking for some advice on how to create a border like this. Mainly on what stamps to use and where to find them. The project is a large leather-topped desktop so hoping to figure out some way of keeping the stamping simple as its going around a large area. Also would love any advise on where to find any flowing vine/leaf pattern stamps in general (as in example 3). Thanks in advance.

Hello all, Looking for a rising (or setting) sun camouflage tool to match what is on this strap of this vintage sidesaddle. The saddle could be anywhere from 80-120 years old. The strap was broken and someone used nails to "repair" it. The owner said she will only replace the whole strap if she can match the tooling exactly. Otherwise, we trim, skive, overlap and stitch where the break is. I haven't seen this particular tool before so am hoping someone in the community has. If it's available, we would be ecstatic. Thanks in advance! Anita

Does anyone have a formula for the curvature of a border stamp? what the minimum radius possible for a stamp based on the length of the bottom edge of the stamp? Does that formula hold true for the meander style stamps as well? I am trying to meander a border and am unable. I am attempting to figure the minimum radius i can bend around using the double stamp ( same stamp just top and bottom of edging) Any help would be appreciated.

Barry put this together about 5 years ago for me and some are not on his site, like the lined serpentine with dot. I have tried to identify these as much as possible (types and sizes). You may do better but it should be really close. Pictures are worth a 1000 words so look there for more info on size and type. A great set to flip or get someone started. Need a USPS MO in hand before shipping. No PayPal or personal checks.

Can someone please help me to understand the following: "You have an outside and inside border line for the meander If you are doing the outside borderline on the right side pulling to you than you would be carving clockwise. If you were doing the left outside borderline pulling straight to you, than you would be carving counter clockwise. " For the life of me I cannot figure this out. It comes from a statement that if you cut the borders in different directions they will not be parallel. I am sure this is true, however I can't seem to figure out how they determine the "clockwise" or "counter-clockwise" direction. What defines this? Is anyone familiar with these terms? Thanks in advance. Paul

Hi, I have tried to master the techniques of the dyeing and paint job in the photo attached. I believe that the green-tooling coloring is made by first applying a light layer of green dye in the tooling and then more green to the raised areas by a "dry-brush"-technique. I can get it to work, but I am not able to get the light green color somehow? The gold paint on the border is troubling me. I tooled it and then I blocked the raised areas with resolene (5 coats!). The gold paint stayed in the impressions after I wiped it with a clean cloth, but unfortunately some gold "glimmer" remains in the raised areas. I tried with both cheap and expensive gold paint, and I tried with a dry and a wet cloth. What am I doing wrong? One thing that I am totally at a loss, is the green "marvel"-like effect. Do anyone know how that is made?
