I went to thread this Adler 167 GK 373 and I was stumped, I haven't seen anything like this and after several searches apparently the interweb hasn't either. I suspect this was a work around but have you seen one like this. Faced with needing parts I wonder what a good source might be in the US. Thanks for any thoughts and input.

Hello, Think this post fits here and meets requirements. Been a bit of a lurker but got my first walking foot machine and there seems to be a very knowledgeable community. I was hoping someone could help me or point me in the correct direction of how to adjust the backstictch length on my machine, currently approximately half of forward stitch at all lengths. Its a Chandler Chandsew 100RB which i know must be a clone of something no clue what ofthough. I have a "manual" for it/ the DY377 which does not cover stitch length tuning. So far I have cleaned and relubed everything and re-timed the machine per manual, forward works and stitches well, backstitch can seem to make the thread fray and its significantly shorter (verified using cardboard). I have also carefully examined to make sure that it wasn't some synchronization issue between the presser foot and feed dogs but they seem in perfect sync forward and reverse. I have also read about every post on here i could find about adjusting backstitch and couldn't find anything relateable. HERE is a album of the head: http://imgur.com/a/eSwbR Thanks for any info and or any help

I want a walking foot leather sewing machine. I found a couple of used machines available in my area - a Consew 206RB-4 and a Chandler (Adler) 67. I would use to sew veg tan leather - bags and other similar items. In general which would be a better machine? The used Consew is more expensive, but I am more interested in which one will be a better machine over time. If they are roughly equivalent I may go for the cheaper Chandler. What thickness of leather layers could I expect each of these machines to sew through? Will one sew through a thicker layer of leather than the other? Thanks for any comparative advice. The Chandler is fitted with a servo motor, not sure about the Consew.

I’m in the market for a flatbed industrial sewing machine. I want to make things such as belts, rifle slings, wallets, EMT bags, police duty belts, saddle bags, patrol bags, and patrol rifle bags. I want to stitch both leather and heavy duty nylon. I’ve been looking online at the Cobra Class 17 and 18 machines and they look pretty tough. Do any of you have experience with these machines? I’ve also looked into the Chandler 406RB-1 and Consew 206RB-5. I’ve used both the Consew 206RB-5 and Chandler 406RB-1 machines before to reupholster car seats. They did great on thick cloth and vinyl, but I’ve never sewn leather with them. Could they manage to sew something like a rifle sling or police duty belt leather? Most duty belts I’ve measured are two 1/8 in. leather pieces, sewn together. Could the Consew or Chandler hack that? Any information is always appreciated. Have a nice day, Andrew
