After buying an older Cobra Class4 and knowing nothing about the stand it needs or parts it may or may not have come with I got in touch with Leather Machine Co. I kinda begged for a schematic or parts list or some sort of drawing of the tabletop or ANYTHING to help me out here. I didn’t even know if the machine has everything as I’m new. LMC, I won’t say the man’s name on the web but, sent me EVERYTHING I asked for. A parts schematic with part numbers for ordering. A diagram of the tabletop with all the cutouts and holes. And also a diagram of the stand itself so I could understand what I am trying to build/simulate. As well as assurance that if I need more help to reach out to him, no problems. What a class act. I will be buying my first NEW machine directly from them. Customer service top notch …and I wasn’t even a customer. Nuff said.

My Cobra Class 4 has developed a serious issue. It stitches for about 10-15 stitches then locks up. I have to back up manually, then it will go again until it locks up. The bobbin holder is very loose, so many that’s the culprit? I’m at a loss and I don’t know where to turn. I’ve been searching for someone in my area who may be able to evaluate and repair, but no luck. Has anyone else had this issue? The photo below is what it looks like when locked. Thank I’m advance for any help!

I'm coming along- wouldn't consider myself a newbie but far from a master. I've been punching size 207 and 277 pretty consistently through my Cobra C4 machine with good luck thus far. I am getting ready to put in an order with Weaver and want to make sure I get everything I need in order to take advantage of their best buy pricing and free shipping... it pays to put in those big quarterly orders. I have been purchasing Nylon thread by the pound from Weaver My question is... has anyone had luck with Tiger thread through 22/24/26 size needles? I don't currently use Tiger thread but have heard that it is really high quality. Can anyone attest to this? My concern is the "Lightly waxed" bit... will this gum up my rollers/ thread guides/ needle bar? What do I need to know- if anything- about this whole "Braided Polyester" business? Does is sew differently than Nylon? Would the size 207 nylon be size .5mm tiger? 277? Primarily, I am interested in the large availability of colors. I guess I should add- I make mainly tack so heavy/ thick stuff generally doulbled up HO Harness or Latigo but I have been making a lot of belts/ chaps etc and have been looking to invest in another machine more capable of handling the thinner/ softer oil tan/ chap sides. Any suggestions? I am weighing pros and cons of the Cobra C26 and Cobra C20. Thanks in advance.

First time sewing on my new cobra4 leather sewing machine well I am so impressed with my new cobra4 from those great guys at leathersewingmachine company. This machine has great possibilities, I am so excited to have it. Here is a first project, a new wallet design for sale on markets, so it needs to be price aggressive and therefore sewing by machine. I am so impressed with the heavy stitch, it just looks so amazing, almost like a hand saddlers stitch. Here I am using a 200 S point needle with a 277 yarn on top and a 207 yarn in the bobbin. I have used rather thick scrap leather for the prototype, maybe a 1,8mm chrome leather, was quite impressed that the pattern that I made last night worked quite well. The ends of the sewing I backed stitched using a traditional saddlers stitch to ensure that the stitching does not come loose, is quite time consuming but I think it is worth it for my customers..Any comments....? . For the flap inside I shall line with natural plain vegtan, and of course one can use other fastening methods....have ordered some tuck snaps in brass from Abbeyengland ....link here http://abbeyengland.com/Store/CategoryID/420/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/77291 Here are some making of pictures....The pictures are too big will make them smaller and post later..OK

Please could you help, I am looking for „p“ point or „pcr“ point needles which produce a heavy slanted or decorative stick similar to a hand saddlers stitch . These are not available in Europe do you know where to order them in USA. The stitch type you can see in the photo in my photo. I know „LR“ point needle , this gives a slight slant look. appeciate some names of the needles so I can search internet or does anyone have links for theses needles, 794 system for cobra4. I have already asked Steve, he does not know where to get. thanks charles

These cuffs are the first items I have sewn on my new Cobra 4 machine, #25 needle was used. -The brown cuff was sewn using 277 natural thread, I think it turned out nice stitch wise. -The purple cuffs were sewn with 346 black thread, the knots were showing on the back. With the black lining and thread you can't really see the issue. -The black cuff was sewn with 346 white on top and black on bottom, this is where the knots not pulling into the middle show up as you can see the white thread showing through. The machine is set up to sew with 277 thread, I did not want to mess with the settings before I tried a bigger needle as the charts I've seen state #26-29 needle size with 346 thread. Allan

Just called and waiting for Steve to call back……. I know it comes with some tread but I am thinking I should add a few spools while I'm at it to save on shipping. I am doing mostly 3" wide guitar straps and have been hand sewing. I like the look of bulky tread as a feature, I think I want some 346 tread. I am thinking of using 277 for belts as they are narrower. I have been using 25 yard spools of waxed linen and braided cord from tandy so this is my size reference, would the 346 weight be similar?
