Hello everyone! ^^ I recently delved into the world of leather crafting (since July) and have been experimenting with snaps. I purchased a hand press, but little did I know the challenges that awaited me. Despite acquiring the correct die, snaps, and presumably the right press (haha), I am at my wits' end trying to affix snaps to my belts. Each attempt either ends in a ruined snap or misalignment on the leather. To add to the woes, a die has now become lodged in the silver plates after an attempt to set a snap on the leather. It's quite bizarre. Would anyone have suggestions on how I could resolve this issue? Thank you! And some exemple of my First two project :

This is a Harbor Freight Arbor press modified by a professional machine shop to accept Tandy dies. The ram and anvil were drilled out to accept Tandy dies, and a thumb screw was added to the ram to lock the top die in place. The anvil is spot welded (no longer turns) to hold proper alignment for the dies. In addition, it works incredibly well for 3D stamps, letter stamps, etc. I will include a metal plate you can place over the anvil for doing 3D stamping. I would put the leather on the metal plate, position the stamp, then put the plate on the anvil to stamp. With packaging shipping weight will be around 40Lbs. Price will be $100 + shipping costs. Shipping costs will be roughly $25 for 5-7 days USPS or USPS Priority Mail is 2-3 days and would cost around $40. Will only ship to the United States. Message me with any questions. Thanks! arbor press-compressed.pdf arbor with dies-compressed.pdf arbor press ram-compressed.pdf

Hi all, I currently make leather bags by hand (up to 10oz thick) and am looking to buy some machinery to ease the strain on my joints - I've done some research but it's hard to find any UK sellers for most of the things suggested on this forum - I wondered if anyone could recommend any hand presses (for punching and rivet setting), hand clickers (for die cutting), and burnishing machines sold in the UK. Budget is pretty limited, hence the request for hand tools rather than hydraulic. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Danielle

Does anyone know if the Tandy hand presses use dies from other sources or do they only use Tandy dies? I need a 3/8 or 5/16 hole punch. I've talked to the people at the local Tandy store a couple of times, but they have no idea if a 3/8 punch is available that fits this.

I have a hand press with an assortment of dies for sale. This press is still being manufactured, so the dies are readily available. Minkus Margo sells over 50 types and sizes of dies that include dies for setting snaps, grommets, eyelets, punching holes in leather, setting rivets, setting spots aka nailheads, setting spikes, and setting lots of shapes of decorative rivets. Allstarco also sells dies that fit this press. The brass dies listed here are from Allstarco. They are used for setting rim sets for adding crystal rhinestones to your projects. They also work great for setting spots. This is a great press and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to add decorative elements to their projects. I am a full time professional leather worker. I bought the press and dies when I was starting out. I'm only selling it because I am investing in a larger multi feed foot press so I can work more efficiently. Here is a listing of what is included along with the retail value Hand Press - $114 7mm die for setting spots (approximately 1/4") - $34.99 6mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 7mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 8mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 10mm die for setting rhinestone chatons - $52.99 6 mm die for setting rhinestone rivets - $39.99 Brass die for SS 20 rim set rhinestones - $38 Brass die for SS 30 and SS34 rim set rhinestones - $38 Unopened bag of 300 7mm spots - $10.50 I will send along the crystal chatons that are left for you to practice with. I will sell the whole package for $275 shipping included anywhere in the US. I have attached an image of the press & dies and some examples of items I have made with it.

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows where to buy a spring snap die set that fits into the Tandy handpress or Weaver Heritage footpress? The spring snaps or glove snaps I am using are the Tandy kind so they are a bit different than Universal or others. Thanks!

Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a question about the Tandy hand press. I just purchased the Tandy hand press because it's on sale. I was disappointed that they didn't have a grommet die to go with this hand press. My question now is if the Weaver Little Wonder dies will fit the Tandy press. If anyone owns the Little Wonder can you then tell me the diameter of the dies? I am hoping to use the Weaver dies for the Tandy press. I live in the UK so it will cost too much to ship the Little Wonder here. Thank You

I have the Tandy Hand Press, but there are times I need to set rivets in places that cannot be reached with this press. I also tend to use a thicker, stiffer leather, so I cannot bend it to make it fit underneath. Obviously, I can set them by hand, but is there something that exists that is "long-armed" or something? Sometimes there are a lot of rivets and I'd much prefer to use a press or something... Thanks in advance! M

Looking for a hand press with rivet dies for 11mm double capped rivets or single cap with eyelet. Either or. Currently using the W-1 C.S. Osborn Hand Press but it does't have the die set for 11mm rivets. I am in need of a rivet that has a longer shank on it, thus the need for another press. Let me know if you have anything!
