I want to make a gift like this to my friend.

r/engraving - Which wood is better for engraving on gun handle?
r/engraving - Which wood is better for engraving on gun handle?
Who can tell me what kind of wood is better? I'm not a big professional, but I have a little co2 laser cutter and engraver machine for wood.
I need a more convenient material to work with, and of course, to get a beautiful result.

So many choices, but I'd suggest Walnut. But that would be for chip carving

Ash would be a good choice.  Make sure it is a hardwood.  Welcome to the forum from SW Missouri.

White ash, Maple , a lighter colored wood would make the engraving stand out more. are you making the butt stock from scratch?

i would buy a plain gunstock from Boyds for the particular fire arm. Walnut is the wood of choice but they have laminates as well.
