Moderator Wizcrafts Posted August 27, 2022 Moderator Report Posted August 27, 2022 I can't see the bed of the machine because the power cord is on it. If there is just one push button is is not a 111w155, but a previous model, probably a 111w153. The one pushbutton is used to change the stitch length. The 111w155 has this button, plus a second one that re-engages a popped safety clutch after thread jams in the hook. Members Constabulary Posted August 27, 2022 Members Report Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) it has the hole in the casting from where you see the stitch length dial so it should a model with 2 push buttons. The 111 with stitch length knob near the hand wheel have 1 button in the bed but no hole. @Burkhardt here is a PDF of an old 111w brochure maybe it helps to figure the subclass (see box below picture). Looks like your machine is from 1940. Singer 111w Class Machine Brochure.PDFFetching info... Members trash treasure Posted August 27, 2022 Members Report Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) 2 buttons, so probably 111w155 - A good machine, if you don't mind no reverse. Edited August 27, 2022 by trash treasure Quote The model number giveth, and the subclass taketh away ......... Sometimes
Members SARK9 Posted August 27, 2022 Members Report Posted August 27, 2022 The 111w152-155 were all pretty similar....if it matters, you can probably narrow down the model from the max stitch length & foot lift. -DC Quote Machines: Juki LU-563, Consew 206-RB5, Singer 20U33, Pfaff 481, Mitsubishi CU-865-22, Consew 29B, Rebadged Juki LU-562, Mitsubishi LS2-180, Seiko SK-6, Juki LG-158-1
Members Burkhardt Posted August 27, 2022 Author Members Report Posted August 27, 2022 Thanks for the info. It's at a local auction so without knowing what model it is was tough to figure if it was worth looking at. Quote

The 155 was the model with the "major" differences in that sub-class grouping, the rest were similar, as you say.
