Members DaveP Posted September 12, 2022 Members Report Posted September 12, 2022 I finished a sheath the other day with two colors of tiger thread. Now I can't remember what knot I used to secure the two. I tried a square knot several times but keeps slipping apart. Tried melting the ends. Comes apart or too giant for the chiseled hole. What are you using??? Thanks again Quote
Members Dwight Posted September 12, 2022 Members Report Posted September 12, 2022 I don't . . . I simply back stitch 3, 4, or 5 holes . . . depending on how tight they seem . . . cut em off flush on the backside . . . lightly touch with a lighter . . . done. Never had one unravel yet. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran. www.dwightsgunleather.com
Members Tejas Posted September 12, 2022 Members Report Posted September 12, 2022 You might try a Surgeon's Knot, which is similar to a square knot and provides extra friction. Quote

Members DaveP Posted September 12, 2022 Author Members Report Posted September 12, 2022 Thanks again! I really didn't want to have burned ends at both ends, it's a good idea. The sheet bend worked! Surgeon knot actually pulled out. Quote
CFM tsunkasapa Posted September 12, 2022 CFM Report Posted September 12, 2022 Glad I could help. I use it for tying plastic CAUTION tape around our job sites, the square knot will pull loose in the wind. Quote Hoka Hey! Today, tomorrow, next week, what does it matter?
