Small Anvil

I thought this might help others 

1 1/4” (6.35 mm) Brass nut

lead

the nut can be easily found on any old faucet

I use this as a small anvil to set rivets or snaps in tight spots.  It can be laid flat or stood on its edge

Do I understand correctly that you have poured molten lead into the nut? I like the idea (got the lead when I had new tyres mounted and balanced), but what did you use as bottom to the nut so the lead would not leak out?

 Set the nut on the ground

Hump a little dirt around it

any excess file in off with your file

A few of these in different sizes could be handy

Thats a great idea.   Theres often times when my regular anvils just don't work . I have a ....thingy?  not sure what its called actually , but I think it was used a by a smithy that I use. It has a square post that fits into a full size smithy anvil ? Old shoe lasts are handy too.

Great idea!  I have a piece of round stock, 1.5 inch x 2 that I use for much the same purpose.

Yes. A speed loader,  this is an addition to a guys shoulder holster
