Gezzer Report post Posted March 19, 2023 Old one I bought used 35/40 years ago got tossed ( sharpened almost enough to make it a fillet knife ). The blade thickness is thinner on these new ones but still Made in USA and high carbon so maybe it will be a good one . Made a sheath to help keep it sharp in the drawer . PastorBob Report post Posted March 20, 2023 My dad actually found an old one in the field near his house. The handle was rotted away of course. He put a nice walnut handle on it and peened brass rivets in it. Before my LW days, I actually had someone make me a sheath for it. Still have it to this day. Thanks for sharing, and nice way to protect it in the drawer.

Doc Reaper Report post Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) I have a butchers knife that I got back in 1987 when some kind of salesman from Kirby vacuum came to the house, just for the demo I got a free knife. Still have it and it’s the best knife I have. I will look for a used anything made in USA, I try to stay away from China crap!!!! Nice job on the sheath, I don’t have the room in the drawer but know I see I have to re-prioritize Edited March 20, 2023 by Doc Reaper
TexasJack Report post Posted March 21, 2023 I've got some of those Old Hickory knives I bought at a garage sale for a couple of bucks. Had to redo the handles and sharpen them, but they're not bad knives. I like the sheath. Looks good and goes well with the knife.
