I think you did a fantastic job. I don't have a problem with the retention strap , I  have made several holsters in the Tom Threeperson style. It was Elmer Keith's favorite, that's good enough for me.    https://images.app.goo.gl/cjWb6M19Sz69L5Pe8

I missed this back when it was posted. The toe loop and skirt is my favorite design. The strap is exactly what it ought to be for that holster, though I admit to liking Marshall Will's design.  He keeps the design and changes the functionality. A thumb snap on the inside is going to be difficult to close.

I prefer a deeper drop so my arm doesn't have to bend much to grasp the gun.  I made a couple for a Glock 21. Totally out of character for that weapon but carries very well.

Very, very nice work!

I like the strap. And I like the length past the snap for operation by old/cold fingers. And where I go the strap beats out the thumb break. Can’t remember when I needed to quick draw, but have too many times dumped a handgun without a strap bending over.

I did another, and shortened the strap just a bit, but wanted to be able to get a grip on it with gloves on, since this is going to a ranch hand in South Texas.  He seemed happy.  Will post a photo when I get some time on my hands, maybe next month!

I like that style also, very simple design.  Thanks for the compliment!

I think maybe these were more popular in the past.  I've altered the design a bit, and made a lined version that came out pretty well.  Haven't deciphered adding a thumb break to the inside of this design, everything I've conjured up looks a bit awkward and a bit complicated to fabricate.  I think that is more suited to a flatback or pancake style.  Would be interesting to see this for the glock!

I'm a bit late here. I used to approach basket weave with trepidation , but I am getting more confident  these days.  Great job on that. However, I have yet to master ' tri-weave'  . I should really do more projects leaving the leather natural ,  that looks great :)

Thanks, I tend to overdo the gilding on leather work, and sometimes simpler is better.  I just completed one with no stamping, no tooling, no dye work.  Huh, kinda liked it!
