Basket weave

This is starting to bring ideas into my head

i am thinking of weaving the whole outside of a purse

anyone see any pitfalls that may be head?

I see edge work as being the most challenging

I love seeing the stuff you create. You don't think outside the box you smash the damn box and go wherever you feel like it. if your thinking of a complete woven style bag maybe look at crochet type bags or basket weaving techniques might give you the inspiration and some ideas to use to figure out just how you want to finish it. I look forward to seeing whatever you come up with.

Here is my first attempt at a whole purse

I did a strip down the center and left the edge as is.  Baby steps

i learned a lot, main thing is do not start on one end and work front to back,  but start in the middle and work to the edge at the same time.

Man, you've taken ' basket weave' to a whole new level :thumbsup: 

Is it wet when you weave it? Must be hard on your hands otherwise.  I've done 'secret plaits' on belts while its wet or moist. Applying dyes is a challenge too .
