Members bluekush Posted March 11, 2024 Members Report Posted March 11, 2024 Hello I'm new to the world of leather crafting and was looking for a place to show off/ learn how to get better. Quote
Members DieselTech Posted March 11, 2024 Members Report Posted March 11, 2024 Looks good. Nice work. I like the pattern on the belt next to the black belt. Is that hand stamped/tooled or was it embossed? Thanks. Quote

Members Hags Posted March 12, 2024 Members Report Posted March 12, 2024 Looks good. You could pay a little more attention to the edges. Quote Not so retired RN. Living on the Washington Peninsula.

It lost its sharpness very quickly after seeing some of the posts here I'm excited to try my hand at some things like a knife sheath I'll try to get some nice edges on it. Any tips or products you guys use to get that sheen on those edges? 35 minutes ago, Northmount said: Hi @bluekush Good work. I'm a fellow Calgarian. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Any tips or products you guys use to get that sheen on those edges? Read lots of threads about “burnishing” and “slicking”. Right now I focus on making my edges uniform with knife and sandpaper, then slicking with water on the edge and a wooden burnisher. Other methods produce better results; I’m just focused on getting those couple techniques down. There are a lot of good resources, too, and there are some search tips somewhere around here for using Google to search this particular site more efficiently. Quote
Members MarshalWill Posted March 12, 2024 Members Report Posted March 12, 2024 That's a very good way to start leather working! Now you're on your way. Cool. Quote
