Many issues with a new twin needle industrial sewing machine

Recommended Posts

Hey all, purchased a new post bed machine from High Lead and from the get go I’ve had issues with thread locking up wherein I’ll have to remove the bobbin casings in order to free up the jam. I’ve a single needle post bed where I’ve had none of these issues.

Right now the one glaring issue I have is the leather doesn’t feed smoothly. I have to really stretch it out and pull it through to get it to somewhat sew.

Any suggestions on what I should look to adjust to correct the issue? I’m not very experienced at all with calibrating these machines but have been watching YouTube videos and the following the manual and am learning, slowly.

Hold back the starting threads, or at least the top thread, for the first 2 or 3 stitches.

I'd suggest making a video of the problem, maybe the machine sewing where it's not feeding, and post it to youtube. Then post a link here so people can see what's going on. It's just hard to visualize what you're talking about.

I see it. The provided link here 404's on me but if I enter it manually, it works.

So, past all that, it's very strange how it seems to sew in circles.

Here’s an Imgur link with photos

Please post your photos here.  3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring.  When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem.

If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit.  Follow this link for some helps and suggestions.  https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171

In your case you also messed up the link you posted.  Brackets can not be inside the link.

Videos are too large to post on this site so have to be hosted by a 3rd party.  YouTube is the prime choice for most users.

Is it just test sewing what we see or is it a piece of a product you are sewing?

Why should a post bed machine with a single row feed dog and a roller foot sew a fairly large piece of material straight when not guiding the material with your hands? What product do you want to produce? Maybe wrong machine for the job? You do not give us many information...
