I am trying to make a keychain with an old silver half dollar on it I'm not to keen on brazing a post or threads on the back as it would deeply wound me to deface a beautiful piece of history. So I had the thought to make a simple key chain that's all one piece and folded over with a cutout for the coin my only issue is how to properly mount it. So in summation I would have a keychain that is bigger than the coin with one of the two layers of leather cutout to fit the coin into. Thanks for any help and advice.

I can think of a couple different ways. But I'm not good at explaining it. But I could show you a couple ways.

Let me know.

Type the search term "coin holder keychain" into Amazon, and look at some of the possibilities there.

If you go to any sizeable coin shop . . . they'll have metal rings that go around the coin . . . you can make a key chain, bracelet, necklace or anything else out of them.

It is probably 10 times sturdier than anything you can create out of leather.

May God bless,

I once made this key fob with a Singer badge (stole the idea from someone else) and some aged leather.

When you use a coin I would solder 4-6 small loops to the rim or metal tabs to the rear side of the coin so it cannot fall out. Know what I mean?
