Recent offer of a free keychain die - Feedback requested

I wouldn't call it a "scam"... they said "I’m considering sending out free keychain cutting dies to a few interested leatherworkers. "

Which is quite a bit different than "if you give me feedback, I promise to send you a die"...

But I do agree that it is a little deceptive. Just my two cents!

That wording itself suggests that it might be a scam.

Yeah I certainly didn't comment with any expectation of a free fob die...

Exactly. Most people here do not need a bribe to give helpful information. But the OP did not know that, I guess.

Hello everyone,

First of all, I sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings caused by this event. I am the organizer of this free trial activity, and the main purpose of this event is to promote my Etsy shop. Through this, I hope more people can learn about and test the quality of my cutting dies.

As a new shop, I need sales and professional feedback to build credibility, and real reviews will help attract more customers. To achieve this, I launched this free trial campaign, hoping that users could provide honest feedback after testing the product.

To ensure transparency, here is an update on the distribution of the trial cutting dies:

  • As of March 19 (PST), I have sent free trial cutting dies to two Leatherworker members.
  • The first set has already been shipped, and the tracking number has been provided.
  • The second set is still in production and is expected to be shipped within the next 24 hours.

Please note that the trial is not completely free—participants are required to pay $2.90 for shipping, which allows the order to be placed on my Etsy store. This ensures that the order is properly recorded, enabling trial users to leave feedback on the product later.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, I am happy to answer them one by one. I also encourage the trial users to share their experiences.

Thank you all for your attention and understanding!

If anyone has taken up this offer, please provide your feedback.  Have a complaint that this may be a scam.

We need your response so we can investigate and resolve this issue.

I did. I paid 2.90 (or so) through the Etsy store - seemed safe enough for me.

I have a tracking number that looks legit. When I get it I will give feedback to the poster as to its construction and results of using it.

Simple enough for me, I get an affordable die - helps the seller.

@Leo1995 Good to hear this. If this had been mentioned right at the start, people would not have been suspicious. There are far too many scammers around these days. Best of luck in your endeavour.

Incidentally, I've placed an order for a die from you and will certainly review it in Etsy and here as well.

You might hit up some fly-tying forums too they now use cutting dies for foam bodies, it's getting big fast!!!  They may be more appreciative of your offer. Thanks, BTW.

Good luck !!!
