Depending on the thickness of leather you may want to considered adding some 180 (#24) needles, if you can find them. A 200 (#25) is really meant for V277.

Something to be aware off when using a sewing needle that's too large for the thread size in thinner stuff could cause:

i) oversized holes

ii) loose stitches 

iii) fraying

iv) skipped stitches as a result of to much needle eye and groove space that could cause inconsistent forming of the thread loop.

 I originally started with 277, then tried 277 with 207 in the bobbin, then tried 207 on top as well. I'll switch back now that I've got tension problems fixed.

Don't know if you it Chuck  . . .  Tippmann has a full life warranty . . .  if it don't work . . . send it to them . . . Ft. Wayne, Ind. . . . they'll fix it.

I only live 2 hours away . . . so I just saddled up and took it to them . . .  never a problem . . . someone cleared a desk . . . fixed it . . . and I came home.  

Only bill I ever got was for the extra needles or other stuff I bought while there.

They're great people.

A second thing . . . and I don't know why . . . but I bought a patcher machine . . . and they stressed I had to use left hand twist thread.  I checked all the threads I've used . . . they are all left hand twist.  You might check that . . .

i didnt know that about the waranty thanks. I think I have it about figured out now, ordered more thread. Like I said before, most of the problems are with the nut on the handle. I have one of those Chinese shoe patchers. I got it to run like a clock; I'm sure this will too as soon as I get more used to it.
