rdb Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Simple, and beautiful. Good color, nice job of dyeing. Lace is tight. Wish I had a chance to do one, but I'm not in the crowd any longer. After $600 Basket cases, they lost me...lol

Roger Report post Posted January 11, 2008 thanks guys! the lace is 3/16" Florentine Lace. i like the way it's beveled. i did think about cutting my own roo but really like the bevel of the florentine lace. the dye job is fade from black to dark brown to saddle tan

wolvenstien Report post Posted January 15, 2008 I was wondering if someone was gonna notice that! the front is one piece and smooth all the way around i took one or two pics. i'll post them tonight when i get home Did you make a wooden block to stretch it over? That would be an alternitive for me with my pad I am screwing up....
Roger Report post Posted January 15, 2008 Did you make a wooden block to stretch it over? That would be an alternitive for me with my pad I am screwing up.... nope! i used the pad. it's fairly stiff padding. i alway fight with smaller p-pads and backrests. there is much less room for error but, not this time! i started to cover it the way i normally would and took it off cause it wasn't going to fit right and came up with this one. i was very happy with the result. i'll post what ever pics i have tonight
Roger Report post Posted January 15, 2008 here are a couple shots of the p-pad in process. i used the backrest since it was rather firm.
wolvenstien Report post Posted January 16, 2008 When you wet it to stretch it, did you soak it then stretch it, or let it go back to normal color first before stretching? Did you start stretching from the bottom part and staple it then stretch it around? or did you stretch it all at once stapling last?
Roger Report post Posted January 16, 2008 i wet it in the sink with warm water and went to it. i laid it over the pad and started stapling and smoothed it a bit with my hands as i went. then smoothed it some more once it was all stapled down
