dirtclod Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 looks like a flat piece with the lighter piece laced through it to me. Quote
Members KnotHead Posted June 6, 2012 Members Report Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) Looks to me like the braider took a strap and punched some holes in it about 1/4 inch apart and folded the strap like a map is folded and then sent a off color piece of rounded leather through the wholes one fold at a time. Kind of like the way the old slit braiding. But done on a flat piece of strap. Brian... Edited June 6, 2012 by KnotHead Quote
Members PL01 Posted June 6, 2012 Members Report Posted June 6, 2012 I'm not a braider but I think it's a 5 strand braid, middle (lighter colour) strand just goes up and down as you alternate the other four. Some of the other braider's can explain it better I don't have any lace to try it one, so I used some wax thread, it looks close enough to me Quote
Members Spinner Posted June 6, 2012 Members Report Posted June 6, 2012 I think PLO1 has it. If you look at the far left of the photo at the end of the strap right before the button you can see 3 distinct highlighted edges in the black. A single piece of leather wouldn't cast that many. Quote
