Members dragonspit Posted September 11, 2012 Members Report Posted September 11, 2012 Now this is taking one simple ole Tandy design pattern (well, thats where I saw it anyway, its prolly older than that) and doing something exceptionally nice. really nice Quote
Members Horrrk Posted September 11, 2012 Members Report Posted September 11, 2012 Latest off the bench! (Finally) WOW.!! I reckon you need to change your profile from this though.. 'Leatherwork Specialty:Newbie - just learning' lol I know it's not in critique, but the lack of oak leaves is distracting..haha! But seriously, that's got to have taken some patience and a steady hand.. Fantastic job Crystal.. Regards Phil Quote Being defeated isn't the worst thing in life..giving up, is..

Members Double U Leather Posted September 12, 2012 Members Report Posted September 12, 2012 Wow Crystal....that is a slam dunk. Love the colors and the finish work. Exceptional job. Quote
Members Jimbob Posted September 12, 2012 Members Report Posted September 12, 2012 Nice work, super nice carving, extra super-duper airbrushing...A-plus!! Quote http://www.elfwood.com/~alien883 First it is just leather....then it is what-ever I can dream off...
Members Tina Posted September 12, 2012 Members Report Posted September 12, 2012 I'm a fan, Great work The overall look is awsome but I love the small details. Instead of just seeds inside the flover there's...more flowers:-) I also love the extra leathercord along the strap and you really succeeded with the overall color schemes. Ambassador pete Posted September 12, 2012 Ambassador Report Posted September 12, 2012 Latest off the bench! (Finally) Crystal, that is really gorgeous. You need to send a picture of it to Tandy and let them use it as the finished photo for the market bag (I think that is what it's called). I have made 2 over the years- but that "AFTER" shot will sell a lot more for them when people can see what is possible. pete Quote
Contributing Member Crystal Posted September 12, 2012 Author Contributing Member Report Posted September 12, 2012 Thank you so very much, everyone! I appreciate all the feedback! No airbrushing! Just brush. I do have an airbrush- it's in a box somewhere but I haven't a clue where or even how to use it when I do find it again. Thanks, Pete- but I don't think I am ready for that kind of "prime time" yet. Hmmm, Tina. I think I learned that detail thing from my favorite Swede! Again- thanks, everyone! Members BIGGUNDOCTOR Posted September 14, 2012 Members Report Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) Great job on the bag. Th ecoloring really makes this for me. I have a couple of these kits that I picked up from someone who was getting out of leatherworking. Been trying to figure out what to do with them, now I have some inspiration. Any details on the type of dyes used. This is seriously a very nice bag, you should send pictures to Tandy, or someone here may do it for you. Members GrampaJoel Posted September 14, 2012 Members Report Posted September 14, 2012 Ya know, I blew this beautiful bag up real big on my computer screen to look at the incredible amount of details, I looked at every line, and cut, and I thought I found a flaw,,,,, but alas, I was mistaken. Absolutely beautiful work! You did an excellent job! Joel Quote
Members sherlockian100 Posted September 15, 2012 Members Report Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) Very nicely done!I particularly like the attention to detail in the strap. Edited September 15, 2012 by sherlockian100 Quote Don't focus so hard on making a living, that you forget to make a life!
LNLeather Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Your leatherwork is perfection... It's all eye candy! First your backgrounding really caught my attention - it's even on the fine way you finished the strap. And your braiding is just soooo good! Then all the details in the flower - You Are Soooo Talented! I also agree with those that suggested sending your pictures to Tandy... If they used your picture that would be Good advertising for them And Good advertising for you...
