Please do not adjust your computer screen...there is nothing wrong! the background dye did bleed. I think I know why, but I will have to try some things to verify. Rawhide Report post Posted November 1, 2012 I've done that before, but I wanted the really hard contrast. I know what I did that caused the bleeding...I forgot a step before dying. My edges are a variation of Bob parks method and quite a process. In a nut shell, I edge them, sand them with 400-600 grit sand paper. Dye the edge with a burnt wool dauber, then moisten the edge, rub the edge with glycerine soap, and burnish with cordura or canvas. buff with white t-shirt, and the seal them with 2 parts leather balm with atom wax, 1 part resolene. bluesman1951 Report post Posted November 1, 2012 Migthy fine work sir ! Who would think a perfect edge would be so elusive. I have used a magic marker to fix some spots on my work when this happens . That aside ,the stitching is perfect ,overall look very SHARP and CRISP ! I was struck by the shape of the bag its very appealing . It takes very good dimensions to make a bag work . Just a 1/2 inch in any direction changes everything . In my opinion you have nailed it on the size (Perfect) This is without a doubt leather craft taken to its highest level . You have done with leather what Beethoven did to music ! I am impressed ! Thank you for posting your work . This needs to be sitting on the WOW ! shelf in the leather hall of fame if there is one .
