Members Tina Posted September 18, 2008 Members Report Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) I just finished of a holster and for the first time I did the sewing thingie....OUCH!!!!! Gazzillions of stiches that just hurt like s... nevermind that I'm using tape and all kind of protective stuff. The first picture is a holster for a remington 1858 something (this is not my area of knollage at all so bare with me) I had some "hair on cow" inlays and blac leather as lining. The patter is just stamped, basket weave and the color is dark redish brown. The secon is just how fare I've come so far with a skull holster for a S & W Shofield (7" barrel I think...I do not have the urge to run upstairs to check it out right now) I hope this one is going to end up OK, not sure yeat how to put it together, It'll come to me some day:-) Edited September 18, 2008 by Tina Quote "He who works with his hands is a laborer. Hi Clay and Thanks:-) I think due to me being a "alien" and I did not grow up with the western style tradition the same way as an American, it might be easier for me to go outside the box??? My western tradition is Bonaza, High Caparall and Laredo O'boy did the native Americans have gorgeous horses on those shows :-) bustedlifter...I used one of the camoflage tools, number C431, verry simple but effective. Rayban...Belts, are you sure??? Well, I understand that would be optimal but I have to learn a bit more about straight cutting and tooling without warping before jumping head first again:-) DCKNIVES, bobocat, leatheroo, Thanks guys an gals, alwyas nice having support around you in your craft, makes you wanna take that plunge from time to time and make someting "unknown":-) Quote "He who works with his hands is a laborer. Members ptanks56 Posted September 20, 2008 Members Report Posted September 20, 2008 Tina, Nice lookin stuff. I like the therapy of the leather and flesh myself. It's a great drug. Anyways if you try Nitrile Gloves the blue ones avail cheap at places like Pep Boys and Auto Zone to keep mech's hands clean, they give good grip on needles and thread, and can help keep hands safer. Start out wearing when you start a stich run and you can go for a long time. Nice job Tank Quote
