ArtS Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 The bad part Cecil is that it looks so good people will always be asking you to pull it out to see it and then 'oh, by the way since you have it out you might as well pick up the tab'. LOL Art Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted September 28, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted September 28, 2008 Outstanding work!!! I hope my wife doesn't see that. Quote
TomSwede Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Absolutely great Cecil! It must have been a petience trying thing to make the filligree and (I assume) polish the small inside edges. Bonus points for patience! Tom Quote
Froghunter Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Great work as usual my friend! Too bad I don't get to see them in person any more!!!! Quote
Cecil Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 Thanks for the compliments. This was my first piece of filigree work. Quote
carr52 Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 I like it. What did you use to line the inside with? The part that shows through. And what type of knife did you use to cut it out? Good job my friend. Tom Quote

Good job my friend.Tom Tom Thanks I used a very thin calf skin dyed dark brown. To do the cut outs I stated with an old scalpel, but found it to dull. I got an exacto knife from ACE hardware with the hobby craft blade. This worked great. This was the first filigree I have dine so it took me a while to get the hang of it. I suggest anyone that is doing this for the first time practice on a blank piece of leather first. I didn't and there is a place where the blade slipped. Quote
