Members Sona Posted May 12, 2014 Members Report Posted May 12, 2014 We got one called "Forellenfaden" (sth like troutthread) in Germany, but I doubt that this would help you.... Quote
Members dcobranding Posted May 13, 2014 Author Members Report Posted May 13, 2014 Thank you all for your input. This quest to find the best thread has been a maze to say the least. cem, thank you for suggesting Serabraid by Armann Group. I am in communication with Chris Sisson, the National Rep for Armann. Their T90 waxed braided poly looks fantastic. 12-16 ply, nice selection of colors, 500m spools for under $20 each (minimum purchase is 6 spools). I think I might have a go at Serabraid first. Of course, I have to pick up at least one spool of Tiger (either Sexy Chocolate... er, I mean "Havanna Cigar" or beige in .8mm) in order to do a proper comparison (at least, that's how I'm rationalizing it in my head). I geek out way too much on this stuff. Thanks again. Cheers. Quote
King's X Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Rocky Mountain Leather on eBay has the Tiger thread in small amounts. Quote Greetings from Central Texas! The Grain Side Up blog #TheGrainSideUp

I found the .8mm to be a little thick for the look I wanted but most people recommend that size on here. How many spi do you normally use? Quote
Members WScott Posted May 14, 2014 Members Report Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) Totally agree, 0.6 Havana Cigar is a beautiful thread. I have ordered from here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/leatherwurx Cy in Calgary Alberta...really good guy. Edited May 14, 2014 by WScott Quote
Members mrtreat32 Posted May 16, 2014 Members Report Posted May 16, 2014 I emailed ludlow leather to see if they carry or can get the .6mm tiger thread and I havent heard back. I have bought the samples on etsy once but you get a much better deal buying a whole spool. Anyone else in the US carry the .6 ritza thread Quote
Members St8LineGunsmith Posted May 22, 2014 Members Report Posted May 22, 2014 This is JMO but I really dont see what all the hype is about Tiger thread I tried it and personally think it is over rated and over priced. but thats just me.
