Sona Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Well you all present such a lot damn beautifull wallets, bifolds, cardholders, etc... and I really would like to make a wallet, too someday. But there is one question running through my head everytime I see a new wallet in the show off section:"What about the coins?"There are really only a few wallets that got a pouch or sth else for coins. As I see most of you seem to have nothing but bills and cards, where do you put your coins? I am just not sure whether you put them somewhere else or maybe just avoid to get some, but it looks kind of weird to me.... and I´d really be interested in an answer (or some more )Greetings from germany Sona Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Men especially ... do not keep coins in wallets, but rather loose in pockets or a separate coin purse. I understand that it is far more common to keep change in a wallet in the rest of the world. I just wondered why the change pocket is always "missing".Actually I like the idea, because it makes the wallet quite slim, but over here we get a lot of change in coins and I use my pockets for other stuff (besides I don´t like fishing in it for coins everytime I need some )But if it is just common for you to keep in anywhere else, it makes sense. I think it might be that you really have less coins to keep because you got bills down to one dollar, right? And yes, it does make for a slimmer wallet, which is kind of important if you keep it in a back pants pocket. We do sometimes see women carry wallets with a coin pocket, since they are more likely to keep their wallet in a handbag ... Where it isn't uncomfortable. Stephenpuhakish Report post Posted June 30, 2014 I'm from Canada and we have coins for $1 and $2 denominations as well. We did recently discontinue use of the penny. Realistically, if you make a single purchase with "paper" currency the highest number of coins you could receive back is 7. That being said, cash transactions are largely going the way of the pager(at least here). Most people I know use their bank card or credit card for every purchase. That being said, most mens wallets I make these days are simple card wallets without a billfold. Ladies wallets almost always have a spot for coins. I get tired of dumping them into the bottom of my purse...and never finding what I need for change when I need it. So I could use some direction for patterns!!!
