Evo160K Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Hi Frank, Thanks for your interest. My hope is to swap these parts and/or some Adler parts I just acquired for the parts to complete my 45K25. It seems money isn't helping to find the parts it needs, they're so rare I'm planning to use the guide mount for my K25, if I can find the SS30 screw and the guide to complete it. What parts do you have to exchange? I need the Singer 91797 oil box, a 91329 throat plate, an 86135 material guide, the SS30 guide screw, the 91218 guide lever, an SS395 oil box stud, an 85532 right presser foot or equal, maybe a machine mounted Singer bobbin winder, a couple of Singer 95093 bobbins and various Singer screws. If I'm unsuccessful swapping for what I need, and you still need the parts, I'll offer them to you first, that's a promise Thanks Frank Edited December 15, 2014 by Evo160K Quote

Members jimi Posted December 15, 2014 Members Report Posted December 15, 2014 So in the end, did you buy the machine muzisch??? Quote
Members muzisch Posted December 17, 2014 Author Members Report Posted December 17, 2014 I've been following, with great interest all of your posts and reply's! It's nice to see that it helped some of you. @jimi: Thanks for asking, but I did not. I have had a nice long chat with the owner who used to make horse harnesses for a living, allthough not on this machine. It was nice to meet someone with a the same interests for making quality products. For me the 45k was to badly worn: the shuttle plate was ratteling in its housing and the roller foot was odly offset. It would take a lot of time and effort, probely a lot of money to, to make it work again. After speaking with the seller realised that I don't work that much with veg tan leather exceeding 6 or 7 oz. that I need such a strong machine. Stitching by hand will be sufficient enough for me. Besides, I find that handsewing has a zen thing going for it :-) After talking about our hobby's for a while he was not sure he would still sell it. The seller is going to try and restore the machine himself, perhaps for making harnesses on it. I hope he will succeed. @ Constabulary: I hope you find your roller foot and I am sorry that I cannot help you. Quote
Members jimi Posted December 17, 2014 Members Report Posted December 17, 2014 Hi Muzisch, so back to hand stitching again, the truth is these old machines can take up a lot of time and money. if you dont know much about these machines and it is not up and running well for you then it could be a pain in the ass to get it working. Pushing the big pedal on a treadle for one of these machines has a zen thing going for it too :-)) anyway good luck with your work and if the owner changes his mind i would gladly pick up his machine for parts also, put me on the list LoL! regards, jimi. Members Blackbirdhills Andy Posted October 21, 2017 Members Report Posted October 21, 2017 Hello All, I picked up this Singer 45K89 today, and it has that Ring-Foot, which I haven't seen on a Machine yet... Also, the walking/jump-Foot seems to be locked (maybe because of the Ringe-Attachment?) Does anyone know what this thing is, and how I get the machine to work? Motor runs, she looks quite good in shape, I guess, it shouldn't be a huge thing to get her going? Thank you in advance! Quote
Members Constabulary Posted October 21, 2017 Members Report Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) I would guess thats some sort of darning device for darning sacks or horse rugs and the like... Members jimi Posted October 21, 2017 Members Report Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) Hello, This machine had no darning attachment for it, so this is user made. i would take it off if you do not intend on using it. does the bar move where the foot screws on (black arrows)?? maybe the foot lever pitman rod screw is holding the bar (red arrow). this is part nº 161d plate 2151 page 43 i think? that is if you have the parts list downloaded. there should be a cam on the inside of the front head cover that moves this bar? maybe the previous owner took it off?? did it come with feet? i don¨t know if this is any help or not to you, but there was a series of videos on a 45k89.. Members Constabulary Posted October 22, 2017 Members Report Posted October 22, 2017 Do you have presser feet for your machine? If not it will not sew.
