ETW Grumpy hit me up with a really easy (like it took 10 minutes to make) pattern for a coin purse. Since my brain was about to be fried working on a much more complex pattern so I decided to take a break and tackle this one.

Christmas is coming and I'd like to get as many easy to make/quick gift idea patterns out there as possible

The print size is 8-1/2x11

Same here, Tom...you are just a fine gentleman.

I know you already put a lot of work into these...I would really appreciate your suggestion of what weight leather to use for these awesome patterns. Would it be possible to include notes like that on the pattern? It is hard to keep up with details like that when they're not inside the pattern.

I don't want to ask extra work of you...it's just an idea I had...please feel free to ignore it...:)

If it were me, I'd use 6-8 oz veg tan.

That is really clever! It's things that are simple and clean like this piece that gets a lot of attention.

Do you mean for this coin purse? I was thinking 3/4 oz at the thickest.

Hey tom, you are a great contributor.

How does this work in real life, what happens if its opened the wrong way do the coins fall out?

Or is it supposed to be used like sort of squeeze the sides and let them slide into the pocket end before closing?

hmm i think i answered my own question after thinking about it :)
