tboyce Report post Posted March 18, 2015 A friend of mine who has 3 girls and no boys asked me for this. He claims that he's tired of carrying a diaper bag with flowers and pastels on it and wants something to assert his testosterone-laden self in the estrogen rich atmosphere that is his household. He mentioned that those old Bucheimer USPS leather bags that postal workers used to carry would be just the ticket. According to him, something large enough and sturdy enough to pack the baby in as well if he were so inclined. I showed him the baby holster picture and he thought it was great but both his wife and mine launched into a screaming fit that lasted for....(let's see, today is Tuesday....)Anyway, I got some pictures of the thing off the web. It's HUGE! 16"x12"x7" So I'm working on a pattern now. SHould have it up in a day or so.Stay tuned

tboyce Report post Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) There wasn't really any time. I finished it about 10 minutes before the party. I think I took one with my phone. I'll try to scare it up Edited March 18, 2015 by tboyce
MojoGeorge Report post Posted March 20, 2015 looks awesome! Tom, would you consider also creating a pattern for a smaller bag of the same style? This style is truly a classic and I think would make an awesome purse. geo
oclack Report post Posted March 26, 2015 I'm eagerly awaiting your patterns for this one. I've been working/experimenting with a mail bag inspired design for weeks now, but I'm struggling with the right construction process - mainly how to attach the top. Since I've never actually seen and touched one of these Bucheimer bags I'm not sure if my sizing is correct. I'm also confused as to how to add the front pocket with that little pleat. Thanks for helping us all with this.
