Pen Case

Hi everyone,

This case was made as a gift, when I made a picture it had already seen a couple of months use! First time I made something like this, quite happy how it turned out. Sewing was not the most easy job by the way

Those look great. Just out of curiosity, what weight leather did you use? I just got 6 hand turned wooden pens from a guy in Aus and cases like these would be perfect to sell them in

I used ~3,5-4 mm so that would be 9-10 oz. For the sides I used 2mm/5oz, thinned from a slightly thicker piece. You could use leather for the loop but I liked this elastic band I bought from a shoemaker supply store (general elastic band is not stiff enough).

Thanks for the info. It doesn't look like it's that thick and not sure I have any that heavy but will see what I can come up with.

I am sure that thinner will also work very well, this is just what I had available

Hello Frederiek, i think this is a very nice project, i know what you mean about the stitching being difficult on small gussets , but you seem to have managed it ok in the end, keep on

posting pictures of your work you will never bore me with them. Peace.
