hoagz Report post Posted May 14, 2015 G'day all, This is an overnight bag I made for a KK present. It was the first bag I made, and took me a fair while to make, mainly because I was making the design up as I went along and there's a reasonable amount of stitching on it! Hope you like it. Thor Report post Posted May 14, 2015 Nicely done. I might just steal the design if you don't mind.
Dan28 Report post Posted May 14, 2015 Not bad at all especially for your first bag. I've only made one small case this year, but am about to make myself some kind of luggage/carry-on-bag for a trip to Ireland in a few months. Like you, I'll probably make it up as I go along. Its good to see other ideas. I'm not looking forward to all that hand stitching though.

Yeah the hand stitching was a killer, best advice is to set yourself up somewhere comfortable and put on a favourite Tv series or something so you don't go crazy. haha

I also stitch on my couch with the tv on too. I also do some of my strap stitching and smaller stitching items to work as I can stitch on lunch and during some tasks that don't require my full attention during the day. I would say my first messenger bag took me 20 to 30 hours just to stitch. I've gotten a bit faster now.
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted May 17, 2015 Nice bag! I'm always impressed when someone actually makes an overnight bag. As you say, they require so much stitching. I want to do one, but I'm not sure if I can face it. But, truth be told, the more you do, the faster you get, and the less you mind it. Especially with a show or listening to 24/7 comedy on the radio.
