strudell Report post Posted July 29, 2015 Hi there, I am moving next month and am downsizing in my shop. I am a casemaker using English Bridle. I am wondering if any of you interested in making traditional briefcases might want to purchase a kit I could put together for you: Bridle Shoulder 4 feet of lacing hide for gusset, handle, etc Yardage of Lin Cable thread, size 332 and some number 3 needles if needed Liston briefcase lock Briefcase pattern I am thinking this would be for a standard double document case I could probably make it work for those interested in a wrap case An example of the two case styles. If anyone is interested please let me know and I will take a look at how to make it work for your needs. Cheers, Shane

Northmount Report post Posted July 30, 2015 Could be interested, but where are you located? Price, location, shipping and any duties or brokerage have to be considered. Tom

strudell Report post Posted July 30, 2015 Hi folks, There has been a fair amount of interest so I've taken a closer look at this, and here is the offer: Leather in Dark Havana or Light Havana Full Sedgwicks English Bridle 3mm Shoulder - 8-9 sq/ft Matching Lacing Hide - approx 1.7mm - 4 sq/ft 50 Yards of Lin Cable - Fawn, Beige, Brown, or Dark Brown (fineleatherworking.com for pictures) Round Liston Lock with approproate rivets Aluminum pre-cut handle bar Handle posts and rings Basic briefcase pattern printed out and rolled with the leather (paste onto pattern paper and cut it out) This is an opportunity I wish was available when I made my first case. Saving you from buying 30 feet of leather, a pound of rivets and 150 metres of thread, it also takes out the guesswork, the bits and bobs, the forgotten items, and the orders from multiple suppliers, not to mention a printed pattern. I believe I spent around $800 gathering materials for my first case, after which you will have some inventoried material. You will save some dollars on the square footage in this situation of course, and can make your own design. For those wanting to just test the waters and make a traditional English case I think this is a great opportunity. $320 USD plus shipping. I am based in Toronto, Canada. 2 available. Please PM. Cheers, Shane
strudell Report post Posted August 8, 2015 Opening these packages up to best offers now after a few PM situations seem to have faded away. PM me to make a deal, happy to include extras or take parts out that you don't need. Cheers, S
strudell Report post Posted August 14, 2015 The Dark Havana is now sold, but after many inquiries the Light Havana kit remains. Shipping is free. The colour is a classic of course. Please PM if interested. Cheers, Shane
strudell Report post Posted September 8, 2015 Hello all, A quick update to this thread. Despite inquiries the light havana is still available for one more week - I move from my studio this weekend and would be able to ship. Afterwards I won't be able to make this available. Please let me know if interested. Cheers, S
