Nice Old Adler Cylinder Bed Question

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Just got back from looking at this nice old Adler cylinder bed. Seller is asking 2300 with table and servo. Runs very nice and puts down a good stitch.

I've had very few runins with adlers over the years (minus my cobbler neighbors beautiful old stitcher) so I wanted to see what you all thought about them. Thanks for your opinions in advice, always a huge help.

I see a binder attachment on the right. Does this machine have a drop feed feed dog? Or, does it always stay up and just move forward and backward? Some binder machines are made that way and stitch length suffers when you do normal stitching.

Lots of money for this machine. Is it from a dealer or private person? Anyway - I think it is way too expensive. W/O knowing the marked on your end but I´d say when you pay $1300 it is still NOT a bargain.

I agree with Constabulary. I think this machine is around 40-45 years old. It is not worth what that guy is asking for it.

Around $1200.00 tops for that machine.

When I was buying Pfaff 335 a month ago the dealer had that same Adler too (but with a knee press which I can't stand) and both machines were offered for just over $900 Canadian, which is roughly US$800. That includes the K legs and a table. Servo would be extra CDN$130.

Pfaff I bought was hardly ever used.

Canadian prices on everything are higher than in the US, so you should have lots of room to bargain.
