Members Craftsman Made Posted October 22, 2015 Members Report Posted October 22, 2015 Made this recently mainly out of solid undyed cowhide and a slightly thinner chestnut bridle leather. Hand stitched 6 to inch using 4 cord 18 linen thread. The idea for the design on the front came from Monica J's wonderfully designed and made Violin Bag. Quote
Northmount Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 Very nice! Now my son will be wanting one! Tom Quote

Members MonicaJacobson Posted October 29, 2015 Members Report Posted October 29, 2015 That's an awesome bag! I love how you closed it, and also the buckles on the gussets. Super cool. I can't believe you cut out the outline and the treble clef. That's ridiculous. Just tell me this, are you ever going to do it again? Quote
Members Bruce H Posted October 29, 2015 Members Report Posted October 29, 2015 I've looked at this thread about 3-4 times now, and the colors are just flippin awesome! I also like how the strap stitching is parallel to the closure / lid / flap whatever its called (LOL) and the music clef...It all lines up very nicely...The buckles & straps hugging the lower radius of the shell is perfect too. This bag is all about detail plus its a load of stitching...My hats off to you sir...Great job! Quote
Members Craftsman Made Posted October 29, 2015 Author Members Report Posted October 29, 2015 Hi Monica. Thanks for the great comments. No I am not going to be making another bag like this the reason being it is a one off made for a musician over in your part of the world. It took a lot of time working it all out as I had never tried doing this before. Hi Bruce. Again thanks for all your great comments. I had a basic idea of what I was going to do when I first started and the bag sort of evolved as it went along. The straps and buckles that ended up on the front flap were either the 4th or 5th variation I had tried and to me it just looked right in keeping with the rest of it. Peter. Quote
