abn Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Anyone who commissions a skull carving is probably gonna want it black. I think it just comes with the territory. If you like natural colors, maybe you should start Sheridan carving your seats! :D
Luke Hatley Report post Posted January 27, 2008 AS ALWAYS YOUR TOOLING IS ASWUM.....question. did you use a beveler on that or was the background tool used as a beveler ?
wolvenstien Report post Posted January 27, 2008 You need to let your customer know that is not poison ivy..... Great work as usual...

MADMAX22 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 That is sweet dude, it would look really cool I think if it was that dark brown fade to black like that other seat that you did. Good job
Froghunter Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Superb! Your seats are just amazing! Super clean! Definately a level most of us hope to obtain!
faceOdd Report post Posted January 27, 2008 I don't know what color bike it's going on, but a really, really deep midnight blue is a very nice alternative to black. As is a very dark, almost black, red. Not that I personally think there's anything wrong with black : ) Of course, a customer who wants black wants black. It's just one of those 'upsell' options you could use when negotiating the details. I usually talk people out of brown because I prefer to work with black. But I have to make a little kid's bag out of glow-in-the-dark bright green. THAT will be interesting. The only part I'm looking forward to is sewing it with some awesome white Nomex cord that I got at a garage sale - 7 big spools for $5! That seat's a beauty! rdb Report post Posted January 27, 2008 I love the fighting battle axe sweep of the design. That's just great work. If the customer wants to cover it in green flouro paint, it doesn't matter...we saw it...we know. Take his money and move on to your next great piece. Roger Report post Posted January 27, 2008 thanks guys! i quite often can talk the cusomer out of black. if it was me i would have donwe it in buckskin or saddle tan or some fade of browns. the bike is lime green so, no way blue would work. i spent some where around seven hours tooling. prolly another hour and half tracing the pattern and then transfering it to the leather
steveb Report post Posted January 27, 2008 that is sweet, really clean tooling...one busy detailed design...nice, funny aint it, before you did leather work - leather always had to be black. onely after becoming immersed in leather, did i learn to appreciate browns/red! steveb

Hilly Report post Posted January 27, 2008 Super nice, Beeza, as are all of your creations! I'm curious as to where the "RMH" in your "RMH Leather" came from? I used to subscribe to a usenet group called RMH (rec.motorcycles.harley), back when I had my bike.

Spider Report post Posted January 28, 2008 Bezza that is an awesome looking piece. Is that an inverted tooling? Looks like the smooth parts are not as raised as the pebbled. Maybe it's just my eyes but it looks bitch'n.
