Members Colt W Knight Posted April 4, 2016 Members Report Posted April 4, 2016 I am trying to upload the pictures onto the site, since the new format isn't allowing me to use photobucket. Black deerskin and purple designer delight from hidehouse. The liner is an iridescent fabric (for lack of a better term) and the veg tan is all 5/6 ounce. I switched over to using Fiebings Pro oil dye on this purse, and I like it much better than the regular USMC black. I think I finally got the seam down nice on the flap. I have been struggling with that for a while. Quote
Members venator Posted April 4, 2016 Members Report Posted April 4, 2016 Looks gorgeous, what did you use to finish it after you dyed it? Quote
Members Grey Drakkon Posted April 4, 2016 Members Report Posted April 4, 2016 Slick! I know plenty of people who would be all over that. Quote

Thanks, I rubbed the hell out of it, then gave a coat of a beeswax mix I made up. 5 hours ago, Grey Drakkon said: Slick! I know plenty of people who would be all over that. Thanks. Quote

Chief I think you should, if I have to make purses, Id feel better if someone else was stuck doing it as well. I have to make one for the mother in law next. Quote
Members CaptQuirk Posted November 5, 2016 Members Report Posted November 5, 2016 @Colt W Knight- Sorry to drag this post up, but I am really curious about the lining. What exactly is it, and where did you get it? As I mentioned in another post, my wife wants me to make her a CCW purse, and I KNOW she would love that lining, much better than the plain canvas I had planned. Quote

It's Cosplay fabric from Joanne fabric. you can glue it to the leather with 3m super 77 spray glue, then run a clothes iron over it and it will bond to the leather exceptionally well. I prefer to use synthetic cloth like polyester, rayon, nylon because you can take a lighter to he edge and melt the fibers and it won't fray like cotton cloths. Quote
