Chief31794 Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 Don't get much call for these anymore, but some folks still like them. This is from a Pattern I got from Tandy 25-30 years ago, cut from Hermann Oak 9/10 oz, lined with Glazed Pigskin. Finished with Mexican Basket Weave lacing. Members LederRudi Posted May 20, 2016 Members Report Posted May 20, 2016 A beautiful classic, expertly made! As always (also on the wallet you've recently posted) excellent lacing! Quote "If you work for a living, why do you kill yourself working?" Tuco Ramírez

Members barbedwireboutique Posted May 20, 2016 Members Report Posted May 20, 2016 It's beautiful! I plan on trying to make something similar when I get a little more experience. I actually just bought a vintage handbag kit pattern, so it's great to see an excellent example such as this fine display! Quote

bikermutt07 Posted May 21, 2016 Report Posted May 21, 2016 Very nice. Now that I'm learning a little about carving, it's nice to see a good example and study which tool was used where. Thanks for sharing. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Thor Posted May 21, 2016 Report Posted May 21, 2016 Great job chief. You must have like that project. Your braiding says it all Quote

makitmama Posted May 22, 2016 Report Posted May 22, 2016 actually, I have made a couple of prototypes for this style bag. Not western tooling patterns, but celtic/tattoo patterns. I think this style is making a comeback. I also plan to make another vintage style bag... from an old Tandy pattern. I think they called it a 'shopper'. Quote
