hi,

Is there anyone who can assist me with a connection belt for a Singer 45W53?

I tried Singer on the internet but their answer was "Sorry discontinued!"

Thanks in advance.

Are we talking about a timing belt inside of the head or a belt connected from the balance wheel to the pulley on the motor or treadle wheel?

Basically, all components of Singer industrial sewing machines were discontinued by Simanco. The business was sold off years ago and all parts and equipment are scattered to the four winds. Any parts at all are either recycled from old machines, or made in Asia by aftermarket companies.

Internal timing belts are now made in China and commonly available from aftermarket suppliers. However, your model is so old there may not even be knockoff belts for it.

If you get stuck, try contacting a local or internet based belt maker.  If you have the measurements, they may be able to supply an off the shelf cam/timing/pulley belt with the same dimensions that will do the job.

Or even make one for you.

It is the timing belt I am looking for.

I don't have the measurements for such a belt...

Wrap a fabric tape measure around both of the timing pulley/cog wheels, just like the timing belt would run. Measure the overall length, how far the teeth are apart, and how wide the cog wheels are. That will tell you just about all there is know about a timing belt.

Left hand cylinder bed.

I suspect that a CW8 belt would fit

I once ordered a timing belt and pulleys from stock drive products to solve a situation like this. In most cases the pulleys are simply installed on a standard sized shaft so you can order practically any set of standard toothed timing belt pulleys as long as the ratio matches - no need to stick to an end of life original setup or low quality asian knock-off parts when you can make commonly available industrial parts do the job.
