Members sodapop Posted December 24, 2008 Members Report Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) after a bunch of headaches...i finally got this final design and first completed purse done...i used dark brown dye inbetween the flower parts and faded it out, then antiqued with sheridan brown and a weaver "5" ss buckle on the adjustable strap...the inside is lined with cognac colored pig suede...next time i braid i'll use the proper chisel so its cleaner and prettier that way...then the purse is finished with angelus satin... anyways heres the purse "finally" lol also merry christmas all!! darryl Edited December 24, 2008 by sodapop Quote

Members sodapop Posted December 24, 2008 Author Members Report Posted December 24, 2008 thanks much for the good words on it...i originally tried to draw my own main artwork pattern...but it just wasn't pretty enough for what i had envisioned...so i slightly altered the artwork of some artwork that peter main altered of Al S wife's artwork the purse pattern i was able to design...but i think at this point i need more time and experience before i can put what i envision into totally original artwork, especially with florals and such... i forgot to add this pic...just shows the strap...the whole color is off because the inside shots i always get a yellowish tone... darryl Quote

Members sodapop Posted December 24, 2008 Author Members Report Posted December 24, 2008 thanks loads guys & gals!!...the headaches were from the very beginning when i decided to do the purse and started out with one design & tossed it, redrew it & tossed it, then reconfigured it all...was going to use this liner & tossed it, use this latch & tossed it and so on & so forth...you get the idea lol darryl Quote
TomSwede Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Heeey Darryl!! You sure got that thing down very beautiful in the end I remember all your headaches and mischiefs but sometimes that happens and it's a good thing that you try to follow your vision. The floral looks great and so does the braiding. Tom Quote
