Members Dwight Posted October 1, 2016 Members Report Posted October 1, 2016 Everyone pretty much knows what a pancake, . . . Tom 3 persons, . . . snapcake, . . . Rhodesian, . . . SOB, . . . cross breed, . . . and other holsters are called. What is the nomenclature for a pancake that does not have holes punched for the belt, . . . but instead has a short belt tunnel on each side of the gun? I have seen them in pictures, . . . never in person, . . . decided to make one, . . . have no idea what to call it. Slip cake? Slide cake? Anyway, . . . just wondered. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran. www.dwightsgunleather.com

Members TonyRV2 Posted October 2, 2016 Members Report Posted October 2, 2016 Call it what ever you want....thats how the other names came about after all. How about 'Funnel cake'. Members TinkerTailor Posted October 3, 2016 Members Report Posted October 3, 2016 Should you call it a fudge-cake holster? Depends....... Quote "If nobody shares what they know, we will eventually all know nothing." "There is no adventure in letting fear and common sense be your guide"
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted October 3, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted October 3, 2016 Still a pancake. A "pancake" with belt slots is not called a "slot pancake". You'll see "IWB" holsters which are nothing more than a pancake with belt LOOPS instead of belt SLOTS. A building which collapses down on teh floor below is said to "pancake".. simply meaning two layers slapped together (as a flapjack would be). Each his own, but I'm not seeing the benefit of this "channel" between layers. Either way, the thickness is the same (two layers of holster plus the belt) and you're relying on ONE layer of the holster to retain its position on the belt instead of both layers. In other words, marketing ... Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." IF what you do is something that ANYBODY can do, then don't be surprised when ANYBODY does.
