Made a wastepaper basket lid

Actually this was more of a how to for a leather worker on facebook whom I wanted to help out.

So since this is right below my desk and I'm spending long hours on my desk as well, I'm finally having something to place my feet on. Also works as chair now.

As a chair I can understand, but it's bad taste to put your feet on such a beautiful work! ;)

Thank you Sandra, but you know I will always consider myself a beginner. There's no day I don't learn something new and am happy about it.

It is amazing. I personally couldn't use it how ever, not because it is too nice, I think nice things were made to be used. Because of the number of times I have in a millisecond grabbed the wastecan and squeegeed the spilled coffee/smoothie/dye/paint/whatever off of the bench/desk/table into it. I would have forgotten it was on there and wrecked it in a fortnight.

Thanks TinkerTailor. My Desk is 6' x 4' and the bin in the center under it so my wife and I can both use it. It's actually pretty comfy.

Now I have to make myself a new office chair, cause I broke the laminated wood on the current one. So I guess I'll be buying one from where ever and cover it with some nice leather and some tooling.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous, and even cooler that it's a wastebasket lid.  Like that old Circus saying:  "If you can't do it over the top, why bother?"

Thank you. Trying to improve from one project to the other.

Thank you, it's really just continued practice and using the right distance for the size of your lace.

holy crap!! Love the whole thing especially the braiding for some reason I am drawn to braiding..may have to figure out how to add some to a corset or two.

Thanks. Don't how it would be on a corset, but you definitely don't want it to become to thick. So a thinner lace than this one maybe and eventually just a double loop braid instead of a Mexican round braid. Takes less time and less braid.
