So I was walking around the antique store and found a neat looking stool I decided I wanted for 20 bucks. The top had some cracks soooo why not. Leather practice! It's rubbed down with oil and I'll start the dyeing tomorrow. Super excited

The stool that's in my workshop is just a plain bar stool that I've been wanting to add something like that to. How are you going to attach it? I was considering brass tacks but don't want to be sitting on those with no padding....

I'm planning on using the tacks with a half inch of foam underneath

I am really looking forward to seeing the pictures when you get this finished.  Your carving is well done and the rope/basket weave circle is very interesting.

It's too pretty to sit on.  If I could do that I'd frame it and hang it on a wall.
