Drew up this pattern and cut it out yesterday. Cut all the leather and did the gluing and sewing today.

Looks very rustic - what leather & thread did you use?

The leather is a waxed pull up from Arcadia and the liner is from Springfield(pigskin) stitching is #138 at 8 on my cb3200.

Thanks, wanted to do something different than the standard vertical holders and this seemed like a good solution.

Thank, you lots learned during this one. I’m a fan off the pull up on this leather and the feel.

What's the "pull up" mean? I've heard the terminology, but never known what it means.

It's an oily leather that changes color when you bend or fold it. A lot of times a light scratch will disappear when rubbed briskly(heat and friction). Hard to glue easily because of the oils. Looks rustic usually. If you look up Maverick leather on Instagram they show the "pullup" of the leathers the are selling in 5 second videos.

Mattsburger beat me to the punch.

If you look at the folds or stress points like where the pencils are, you get that lighter(brown) look vs the darker brown/Black color. It is tricky to glue unlike veg-tan especially gluing two oiled pieces together(they like to slide).

Arcadia has a bunch and that’s where I got this from, I also have some from Springfield Leather.
