alpha2 Posted January 30, 2018 Report Posted January 30, 2018 The download site says the trial version shuts down after 15 minutes, but can be restarted. Is there a way to turn that off, short of getting the license? There is mention of a "community version" in the website docs, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks, Jeff Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members Stonegate Posted January 30, 2018 Members Report Posted January 30, 2018 After you install the software, the first time you start the program there is a box on the right hand side that tells you how to remove that limitation. But the program won’t do this automatically for you. You will have to manually delete the files for the “professional add-on” that are located in the “plugins” folder in the QCAD directory where it was installed on your computer. Sounds harder to do than it actually is. By removing those files the software then becomes the community version. Quote
alpha2 Posted January 30, 2018 Report Posted January 30, 2018 thanks! I knew I was missing something. Jeff Quote So much leather...so little time.

Thanks, Jeff Hi Jeff, I'm thinking they've changed it a bit since I had the trial, I think mine went for an hour before I had to restart. if you scroll right to the very bottom of the download page it shows this: QCAD Community Edition If you are looking for the free open source QCAD Community Edition, you can download the trial version for your platform (see above) and then remove the QCAD Professional add-on running in trial mode. Alternatively, you may compile your own package from sources below. I'd never seen it before either, 'might be useful for a few people here. the plugins control panel thingy is in the 'Help' > 'about' tab, Good luck, Quote
alpha2 Posted January 30, 2018 Report Posted January 30, 2018 Thanks. Got it running now. It's still one huge mystery. This will take some time! Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members wheeldawg Posted July 27, 2018 Members Report Posted July 27, 2018 Hello folks. I realize this post is a bit old, but I was searching for AutoCAD related posts. I was wondering if anyone has, or knows where I might find, AutoCAD blocks for individual stamps. I am very proficient with AutoCAD and could play with some preliminary stamp layouts before putting it to leather if I had the blocks. If not, I will probably just make my own. Thanks Quote

This reminds me of a time I broke the company A3 size laminator (I swear unintentional) and then a year later the company had a sale of all items from the storage. I bought some 17" computer monitors for 15$, older computers (still perfectly fine as office machines) for 10$ and - broken laminator for 5$. It stayed at my home storage for another year and I finally had it repaired for cheap, t turned out the heat protection fuse burned out, nobody bothered to service it. Quote
