Please could you help, I am looking for „p“ point or „pcr“ point needles which produce a heavy slanted or decorative stick similar to a hand saddlers stitch . These are not available in Europe do you know where to order them in USA. The stitch type you can see in the photo in my photo. I know „LR“ point needle , this gives a slight slant look.

appeciate some names of the needles so I can search internet or does anyone have links for theses needles, 794 system for cobra4. I have already asked Steve, he does not know where to get.

thanks charles

Bob Kovar of Toledo Sewing Machines carries Schmetz needles.  Ask him.   There's a chance he'll carry the P point.  PCL is pretty rare and generally you'll have to order 1000 or 10,000 from a major supplier to find those.  Sometimes, Dealers will have excess stock from previous orders, but it's like winning the lottery.

IIRC 794 is the same as 7x3 where 7x3 is always round point, coincidentally they are 7cm long with a 3mm shank.

General Industrial Sewing Machine (aka GSM Sewing) in Toronto, Canada, carries at least some types in that size. Just bought a pack of R in that size from them. Don't know if they would ship out of country though.

I just checked the 794 needles here and the shank is 2.5mm I think.

Have you tried turning the LR needles a little. I have found when the all the tensions etc are right that the result can be very similar to the hand saddler's stitch. I could be wrong there so see this picture below. This is without any twist given to the needle. Brian
